Work on the contract for designing and building LOT 3.1 of Struma Highway has started. The Employer for this project is the National Strategic Infrastructure Projects Company and the Contractor – DZZD STRUMA HIGHWAY 3.1, a consortium of companies with Agromah EOOD as the Leading Partner and Patishta Plovdiv AD, Hydrostroy AD, Patishta Plovdiv Group EOOD, AB AD, and Alve Consult EOOD as partners.
The section of the Struma Highway between Blagoevgrad and Krupnik designated as LOT 3.1 is approximately 13 kilometers long and the price of the Design and Build Contract is BGN 185,999,999.90 inclusive of VAT. The project is financed though Operational Program Transport and Transport Infrastructure 2014-2020. The design requirements foresee a А29-size two-lane highway.
The Project includes 11 bridges with combined length of about 850 meters, 3 overpasses (one of which is a railway overpass), 3 agricultural underpasses and one road underpass.
Also included are the Blagoevgrad South Interchange and the Simitli Interchange to Road Е79 at Simitli which requires the reconstruction of a 2-kilometer section of Road Е79.
The Project has to be completed in 1,280 days.
The completion of LOT 3.1 of Struma Highway will benefit the sustainable development of Bulgaria’s road infrastructure of national, European and trans-border importance and will help integrate the country’s National Road Network into the European transport system, achieving balance in the development of interconnections between different types of transport.
The Highway will improve travel safety between Blagoevgrad and Krupnik and will interconnect the nearby communities and multimodal transportation hubs.
The activities related to the implementation of LOT 3 of the Struma Highway are financed with funding from Operational Program Transport and Transport Infrastructure 2014 – 2020 as a priority project.
The Project is implemented under Priority Axis 2: Road Infrastructure Development as Part of the Main and the Extended Trans European Transport Network of Operational Program Transport and Transport Infrastructure 2014-2020 with financing from the Cohesion Fund.
